Directions to Flamingo Campground:

-         Turnpike South to the end in FL City.

-         Turn Right at the light onto 344 St ( Palm Dr ).

-         West to 192 Ave (Stop for key lime milkshakes at Robert is Here).

-         South to 376 St / SR9336 (Don’t pick up hitchhikers outside the prison).

-         West to Everglades National Park entrance (pay $12.00 per vehicle entry fee).

-         Once inside the park, it’s another 38 miles to Flamingo, but it’s a spectacular drive with many places to stop and get out for a walk, my favorites are the Anhinga Trail, which is at the Royal Palm Visitor’s Center, and Mahogany Hammock, which is about halfway to Flamingo.

-         When you reach Flamingo, stay on the main road, passing the marina and “Closed” hotel, all the way into the campground.  Tell the ranger you’re with the Benevolent Campout, and he will direct you to Loop B.

-         Find yourself a campsite in Loop "B" and come to the canteen truck to check in.
